Take Action

Homes for Families is only as effective as our network- which is why we create and share ways for you to take action. Please see below for a list of ways to take action though Homes for Families

  • Action Alerts will notify you when there is something big going on- it could be a vote that your legislator is making the next day, a change in policy that needs to be stopped, or a final push to have our voice heard!
  • Follow us on Facebook or give us a retweet on Twitter for up to date happenings and how you can take action
  • Subscribe to our blog, Opening Doors- a hub of information meant to be built upon and shared. Our blog is home to all policy and program updates relative to homelessness, and a safe space for sharing your thoughts and concerns with us and each other
  • Deliver a postcard to your senator and/or representative. HFF creates postcards that can be customized to your specific needs and your specific legislator. Check back for our next postcard soon!
  • Know who your elected officials are, and make sure they know who you are by sending them an email, or giving their office a call when a concern arises.
  • Write an op-ed or Letter to the Editor to express your thoughts and solutions to family homelessness or other issues of poverty
  • Join our community meetings (held the second Wednesday of every month from 11-1 at 14 Beacon) and attend our other events throughout the year. At our events you have a chance to learn information, but also to give it as we rely on these events to guide our continuing advocacy efforts.
